Why Choose Individual Pet Cremation,

Hello, and welcome back to The Tails of Fleur Fauna. Recently we’ve had the taste of sunshine (I miss it already) and I have decided that tea always tastes better sitting in the sunshine in the garden.

The arrival of Spring got me thinking about grief, and this quote really sums it up for me.

"Spring feels like a betrayal of your grief... And yet there is much to be learned from the audacity of Spring." — Jennifer Stern, Transformative Grief

Today I wanted to talk to you about individual pet cremations, so let’s see where that takes us…

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest moments we face. I’m not ashamed to admit I have found myself in some very difficult places in the midst of grief. I am sure it’s the same for so many of us.

It can sometimes feel like decisions leading up to, and following loosing your pet, are made for you, especially when everything happens so quickly.

But one thing we always want you to know is this: you have a choice.

Whether you are based in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, or anywhere across South West Wales (and beyond), you can choose the type of pet cremation that feels right for you and your pet.

And that doesn’t need to be our pet crematorium, it needs to be the one that’s right for you.

What is an individual pet cremation?

An individual pet cremation means your pet is cared for on their own throughout the entire process. From the moment they come into our care at our pet crematorium in Carmarthenshire, to the moment they are gently returned home.  They have our undivided care and attention always.

For many families, this offers peace of mind, especially knowing with certainty that the ashes returned are truly their beloved companion’s.

Keeping your pet close to home

Choosing a small, local pet crematorium near you can feel more personal and reassuring. Rather than travelling far, your pet remains close to home, cared for in a calm and familiar part of the world.

At Fleur Fauna, we are a small, independent pet crematorium in Carmarthenshire, and your pet is looked after only by us, Natasha and James. This means you always know exactly who is caring for them, every step of the way and you’ll only ever speak to us.

A more personal and gentle farewell

Every pet is unique, and their goodbye can be too. I remember when we had to say our final goodbye to our Delila, we sent her off in one of her favorite blankets and a letter I had written to her and her sister Talula who she was going to be reunited with, and of course a scooby snack (as we always called them on our road trips) for her to take with her on her final journey. We played our favorite songs as we said goodbye, I’m not sure I will be able to listen to Queen, we are the champions ever again. It's so important to us that you have a personal experience, music, no music, personal items can be included, we can communicate throughout or we can just let you know when they are ready to come home, whatever choice you make, it’s what is right for you.

You can choose what feels right whether that’s:

  • Collection from your veterinary practice

  • A gentle home collection and/or return

  • Or bringing your pet to us yourself

We will always support whatever feels most comfortable for you.

Time, care, and reassurance

We understand how important it is to have your pet back home. As a dedicated pet crematorium serving Llandeilo, Carmarthenshinshire, Ceredigion and beyond we aim to return your pet’s ashes either the same day or within 24–48 hours.

More importantly, we are here for you. Whether you’re planning ahead or facing a recent loss, you’re always welcome to call or message us. Sometimes a message feels easier and that’s completely okay, that’s why you can contact us on WhatsApp.

Making the choice that feels right

There is no right or wrong decision when it comes to pet cremation - only what feels right for you and your pet.

Veterinary practices across Carmarthenshire and South West Wales will be happy to support your wishes. If you feel that an individual cremation at a small, local pet crematorium in Llandeilo is the right choice, simply let your vet know. We have supported many of the veterinary teams in the loss of their own beloved pets and their referrals to us really mean the world.

At Fleur Fauna, we treat every pet as if they were our own - with gentleness, dignity, and love.

Natasha,
